Summer solstice.

Yesterday was the longest day of the year and in France, we celebrate it with "La Fete De La Musique". In every city in this fine country, hundreds of local bands will play outside in parks or plazas or in front of restaurants/bars...for free and throughout the night. Darin and I walked around Annecy and found bands or DJs in every nook and cranny of the town. And what a difference this town is in the summer versus the winter. During the winter, my classmates and I were lucky if we found an open bar for a cold beer after class. Last night, every restaurant, ice cream shack, bar, etc. was opened with lines spilling out the door. The streets were packed with people. It was a night that made us appreciate how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful corner of the world.

P.S. Is anyone watching the World Cup? Is the Germany team not the most beautiful group of soccer players ever?? Wow.
