1/24 squares.

Square 1 doneAfter admiring others who were knitting this blanket, I decided to join in on the fun and make one of our own. I finished my first square today and love it. Love the colors. Of course, love the yarn. And can't wait to start square #2. Only 23 more of these babies to go.

It's beautiful! And now that you're Queen of Short Rows, they'll go really quickly. They're like potato chips. :-)

That looks great - but I cant tell what stich it is. Its not stockinette is it? As its not curly (unlike my twistie scarf!)

Nice square, Emily...keep going, you'll get there. I brought my needles with me to Paris and have been making wrist warmers, a hat, and now a scarf. I didn't think I'd have sit down time, but I caught a cold, so am indoors a lot more than planned. Love your blog.

Penny - the stitch is stockinette, but there are wraps and twists and short rows which give it that bubble look.

It looks great, Emily! WAY better than my first attempt, which I am going to have to bury somewhere in the middle of my blanket to make it less noticeable!
Don't worry about being at square 1 (no pun intended) - they go really quickly, so I'm already on 8. They go faster each time since you'll start to memorize the pattern. Happy knitting!
