Tonight's dinner convo.

My friend, Sylvie, recently gave me an easy and oh-so-delicious recipe for Ratatouille so now I make it maybe once a week. We love it. So, I made it tonight. Here's what was discussed between my husband and I at some point during our lovely dinner as we sat out on our balcony, enjoying the weather and our view, sipping wine and eating dinner:

Me: "You're having balsamic vinegar on the Ratatouille?"
Him: "Yea, I wanted to try them together."
Me: "Does it not taste very good this time?"
Him: "It tastes great. I just wanted to try something different ."
Me: "Do you not like my cooking?"
Him: "Did I say that?"
Me: "Yes."

BTW, I can't wait to see the movie. And notice how sparkling clean the stovetop is thanks to my friend, Heidi.

Hey, Emily, I started making different versions of ratatouille 2 weeks ago too! I'm looking for just the right one, but I have to admit that the one I made first time around wasn't that bad. I was surprised, as a lot of people seemed to say that it could be tasteless. But I simply used tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, red pepper, onions, some basil and salt and pepper, and it came out quite good -- especially reheated the next day!

But I'd love to hear the recipe you have! I also got one off of Ms. Glaze's blog, which I hope to try sometime soon.

Oh, and I'm excited to see the movie too! I'm hoping to make it before I leave on holiday in August, because I don't want to have to watch it in VF while I'm away from Paris. This is the first time in AGES that I've been excited about a new Pixar movie; the last one I loved was Monsters, Inc...

Emily - looks delish. (Love that sparkling cooktop, too! Yay, Heidi!) I would love to try this dish but I think I will wait till Fall - too hot for cooking, around here. The Pixar flick is *wonderful* by the way... Little chef Ratatouille is adorable.
