Greetings from Paris.

My friend, Dawn, and I are currently spending a few days in Paris. This is Dawn's first time outside of North America. It's been fun traveling around France through a newbie's eyes. Today is also her 30th birthday and she's spending it with Mona...Mona Lisa, of course. Talk about a party. Happy birthday, Dawn! We're staying at a great hotel in the 12th that I recommend to everyone. While I was checking us in yesterday, I soon learned that the owners are a young married couple...he's French and she's from Sacramento. She came her 14 years ago on a community college exchange program and fell in love with the guy working at the hotel where her program housed the students. Later, I meet another couple who are checking in, who read about this hotel in the Sacramento Bee and decide to stay here too. Thus, they are from Sacramento as well. It's weird being in Paris and surrounded by all these Californians.

Our hotel is located across the street from a world famous bakery, Vandermeersch. I've given them too much of my money in the past 2 days.
