Is it spring yet?

This week, we had 2 gorgeous days here in Annecy. The sky was so clear and blue. The public schools in our region have been on vacation this week so the lake has been surrounded by families taking walks. As I was walking to school the other day, I was quite jealous of those eating sandwiches while sitting on benches along the lake. I tried to slip in a few minutes and park myself on a bench to read and enjoy the view of people sitting in rowboats with the snowcapped mountains in the background. Even though it was a gorgeous day, it was still incredibly cold...too cold to take off my scarf and coat. I can't wait for it to warm up a bit so I can enjoy those moments more often. It's going to be hard to go to class when it's so nice outside and there are so many people roaming around enjoying the gorgeous weather. Like we used to do in college, I might have to ask my professor to host classes outside on a patch of grass. Currently, the weather's grey and cold...if you're watching the Olympics you're viewing the same weather in our neck of the woods. :(

D and I bought a car on Monday. We were lucky enough to find exactly what we were looking for. We're now proud owners of a used Renault Clio. Who knows when I'll finally get the guts to have Darin teach me to drive a stick shift in France. The roundabouts are sooooo scary!!!

Other than that, classes are going well. My class that was 10 students at the start of January will be 4 students next week. People are going back to their home countrys or moving to other groups quicker than I can blink. I miss them, but I do enjoy being in a small class...more attention paid to my terrible French lanugage skills. Right now, I have the France news on TV...I'm hoping that just listening to it (and not understanding 85% of it) will somehow absorb into my brain and allow me to know more than I ever thought. The experiment is starting...now!
