2 years in France.

Two years ago today, I started my new life in France. It feels like just yesterday that I arrived here, in tears, due to exhaustion, sadness, and happiness. I still feel like that person who only knows three French words: Bonjour, Au revoir, and Merci. Where does the time go?

We've been here 18 months and I'm still in tears a lot of the time. At least I now know 10 words. (On a good day.)

Wow! Two years already? You can feel very proud of yourself, for doing what few would be able to do.

WOW, good job on reaching that two-year mark! I can hardly believe that it's been five years since I arrived back here too. I think the five-year mark came and went last August and I didn't even realize it!

I'm sure your French is much better than you give yourself credit for, too -- living here makes you basically absorb it through osmosis anyway!

It does go by fast doesn't it. After three years was when I really started to feel good about my language skills and fitting in. You probably don't even see all your wonderful progress in French but I bet others who knew you then and now do.
