My 2nd FO.
I just finished my second knitting project. I made this lightweight scarf for a fellow volunteer whose birthday is next month. She's always cold even when it's sweltering outside and the door to the store is open in order to bring in some of that sweat-inducing heat. She also always wears green. I'm not thrilled with the final product (the colors remind me of Easter), but I hope she is. She's been having a difficult time with her kids and husband and I'm finding it hard to be a supportive friend when I can only communicate so much to her. Meaning I have such a limited vocabulary. I want her to have a special birthday especially since they did so much for me on mine.

Oh, I think it looks lovely, Emily! Those are great spring colors. She is going to be so happy, what a thoughtful gift for her birthday. And even better because it is handmade.

Good job! I want to *make* something... maybe I could visit my local crafts store and shop around for a nice yarn and some needles. If it goes well, I might be able to knit myself something to replace the gorgeous shrug/tube shaped thing that I miss so much. I used to get so many compliments on it. I lost it when a piece of my luggage was swiped from the TGV, coming back from Bern...
I'm sure she'll appreciate it. It's such a cheery-looking scarf, and I know she'll realize it was made with good thoughts.
