Chicken in a can...in France?

C'est pas possible. Darin asked someone at our local supermarche for a can...we're going backpacking tomorrow...the guy looked at Darin like he was from another...country. Yea, I think chicken in a can is gross too...but there is only so much one can cook for dinner when backpacking...

Anyway, all is well in Annecy. We've been experiencing some unusual weather lately. Unusal for May in Annecy. It's been gorgeous and clear in the mornings and then will pour in the afternoons. OR it'll pour in the mornings and then be clear and sunny in the afternoons. OR we'll have a gorgeous sunny day like today and then tomorrow....grey skies and rain. It's getting annoying.

School's good. We're currently watching Luc Besson's 1988 movie, "Le Grand Bleu"...with my fav male French actor...Jean Reno. I love him. So, we can't tell if the movie's dubbed or Rosanna Arquette actually has some talent and the capability to act in French. And the music...tres 80's! Whatever language this movie is in...it's cheesy.

Last night, one of the American students at my school decided to host an International dinner at her apartment. There were about 20 of us. Everyone had to bring something from their home country. Darin and I brought...peanut butter and jelly (strawberry) sandwiches. It was that or McDonalds hamburgers. We don't have an oven in our apartment so our options were limited. Another American from Oklahoma decided to make pumpkin pie and bought cans of, what he thought was pumpkin. Well, the item contained in the can was a whiteish clearish looking jelly-like substance and supposedly a member of the pumpkin family (?!). People ate it anyway. I pretended to enjoy my one bite.

The sandwiches were a hit, by the way.
